Archival Sciences Course – University of Naples Federico II

The course will be lead by Antonella Ambrosio for the students from the Archaeology and Art History degree courses.

Main focus will be on the evolving relationship between archives and computers, paying special attention on the influence of descriptive and inventory software, digital systems and online sources on archive traditions. These topics will be exemplified on the basis of the online platform of the topotheque, precisely the Topotheque of the Centro Museale delle Scienze Agrarie, MUSA. This topotheque has been and is being developed within the co:op project – more details on this project is available here.

The course will allow the students to try out the services of the topotheque platform themselves at the photographic lab of the Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici (30 March 2017) and also offers a visit to the MUSA centre (31 March 2017), where the Angerio Filangeri Archive is kept.
